POLICE OFFICER RECRUITMENT
The City of Yerington Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill two full time Police Officer positions. Additionally, the City will be accepting applications on an open and continuous basis with no closing date for recruitment. The City will test applicants as it deems appropriate and hiring may occur at any time. When hiring has occurred, the City may close the recruitment with no advance notice. Preference will be given to those with a Nevada level I POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certificate or equivalent out of state certificate recognized by Nevada POST, for a job description and application please call 775-463-3511.

The Training Unit supplies both in-service and specialized training to the officers of the department. All officers are required to complete in-service training each year such as firearms, impact weapons, defensive tactics, Taser, OC, and legal updates. Specialized training in areas including narcotics, elder and child abuse, financial crimes, and evidence preservation / collection. All outside training is coordinated through the training unit.
